RINGLING BROTHERS CIRCUS, SEPT. 27, 2006

Today we celebrated Jon's birthday at the Circus with Stefanie. Stefie absolutely loved every minute of the show and she could not stop pointing and clapping. Stefanie's favorite animal seemed to be the horses, although she loved all the animals, clowns, music and dancing.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JON!!!!

Happy Birthday Jon! We took Stefanie to see the circus, and we came home to have chocolate cake, (Jon's favorite). Stefie was so exhausted from staying up late she could not stay awake for cake. We were celebrating at 11:00 pm. Here are photos of Jon's birthday.

GARDNER VILLAGE

My sister Theresa and I decided to have lunch at Gardener Village, and let Stefanie run around to see all these beautiful pumpkins up close. I absolutely love pumpkins and fall is my favorite time of the year. Stefanie really had a great time until, she and I tried to take a photo in front of some witches, and Stefanie made a run for it. The witches scared her.

I wonder if anyone is looking....

Free at last!

No, not this one

Hmm...Do I really want this one?

SNOWBIRD OCTOBERFEST

Aunt Theresa and I took Stefanie to this year's Octoberfest.

Did I forget to mention Stefanie loves pretzels.

OUR LITTLE ARTIST

This week Stefanie was surprised with a wonderful gift from our close friends the Comito family. Stefanie received a Mini Monet, (Easel) she can paint, color, write with chalk or use magnets. She went crazy with her gift and could not wait to use it. Mommy decided after lunch would be a great time.

The story goes something like this:

Stefie decides we should use the brightly colored markers (washable with water), so Mommy says ok. After all, this is a supervised activity. Stefie takes the purple marker and draws on the easel then decides she should use her hands to rub the image (the artist in her), after she does so and Mommy sees the purple ink on her hands, we quickly run to the sink to wash it off. It does not come off so easily and becomes permanent dye on Stefie's little hands. (Did I forget to mention Stefie had a bath before lunch?) Mommy decides we should change art projects and puts the markers away for now (maybe this is a bit too soon, Mommy not wanting to see purple marker on the cabinets, floors or Charlie).

We move on to the chalk board. (sounds easy enough) Everything is going fine and Stefie is enjoying this very much sitting on Mommy's lap as we use different colors of chalk. Stefie keeps dropping chalk on the wood floor so it breaks. Chalk gets away from her and she does not want Mommy to get up and get it, and she does not want to get it herself. Before I could do anything along comes Charlie. Charlie decides to taste the chalk as Mommy screams in horror, and gets up quickly. Stefie not to happy with this screams because she thinks Mommy should be her chair and the person to hold the chalk. Mommy picks up all of the chalk and then all is going well. This is a wonderful activity until Mommy gets distracted for a moment and Stefie decides to taste chalk and paint her face, then she tries to color Charlie in chalk but Mommy stops her. Stefie decides Mommy's face is the best easel of all, and colors Mommy with blue chalk before she could take the chalk away! The only smart one was Tigger who ran away before anything happened. In the end, we moved on to using the magnets on the board. The safest activity for now.

Here are photos from our interesting art project.

I am sorry for not being very good about posting information. I will continue to try and keep photos as current as possible.

I am currently working on a second website for all of our China Trip photos, etc. I am sorry I was unable to keep our blog current while we were in China. The adoption announcements have taken longer than expected and I have sent a few out recently. I will continue to send out adoption announcements. There are no current photos under the Photo Gallery as I forgot about uploading photos on that site. Too many things to do.
